Homework
As you are no doubt aware, homework forms an integral part of a child’s educational development and as such it is set on a regular basis for all students from Year 7 onwards. Full details of how frequently you can expect your son/daughter to be set homework, can be found in our Curriculum Policy.
Homework activities can vary significantly, particularly between younger and older pupils, including but not limited to home reading activities, longer projects or essays and more directed and focused work such as revision for tests.
To support our students and parents we utilise a web-based programme called SatchelOne which allows students, and parents, to see exactly what homework has been set and what each deadline for completion is.
HOMEWORK CLUB
While we recognise that parents are incredibly supportive, we are aware that in the modern world competition for quiet space, as well as access to devices or other resources, might prove difficult in busy homes. To that end, we run a variety of Homework Clubs throughout the week, during which time students are able to access assistance from one of our learning support team, use ICT facilities and have access to resources/materials to support the completion of their work.
Remember - Homework Club is not just for pupils who struggle to complete their work independently, it can also benefit students who are not quite reaching their potential but want to excel. The invite is open to all students and attendance does not need to be pre-booked.

English – Bedrock: Link to Website
Bedrock explicitly teaches Tier 2 and 3 vocabulary and grammar, all in the context of original and engaging prose, ensuring learners are reading a diverse range of high-quality texts that draw them in, expanding their cultural capital whilst they learn.
Maths – Sparkx Maths: Link to Website
Sparx Maths builds maths confidence through personalised homework for students aged 11-16 and is proven to significantly boost grades.

Tassomai’s adaptive learning program is the ideal way to help students prepare for assessments using retrieval practice.
PE – The EverLearner: Link to Website
The EverLearner allows students to practice the theory aspect of PE at home - with exam-board-specific tutorials, self-marking questions, exam-style questions and razor-sharp analytics to help students understand which areas they need to focus their attention on, in order to succeed.
